Whether you are a newcomer to therapy (either in person or online) or you've been hurt before, it is common to have mixed feelings about starting counseling. Part of my time with clients involves normalizing our many and mixed emotions. Identifying and expressing our feelings is a big part of feeling better. It's okay to feel nervous (and natural given the history of the field!). My intention is to welcome all of your experience in a collaborative healing relationship and in doing so help you feel more at ease.
New Clients FAQ
Are you accepting new clients? Yes!
How do I get started? View my openings and request a session through the client portal.
What if I want to talk first? Just send me a message and I'll be in touch. We can email or set up a time to talk. Whatever's easier!
How do I know if this is right for me? I suggest new and prospective clients schedule an initial session to see what it's like to meet and go from there.
What will the first session be like? It's a time to talk about what's bringing you in and how I can help. By the end of the session, we'll have gathered relevant background information, begun to see what it could be like to work together, and identified next steps for you.
What if I change my mind? That's fine! You are in control of your therapy with me.
What is your rate? $125 per session.
Do you offer sliding scale? Yes. It's important to me to be accessible. Just ask! You can read more about my financial policies here.
How do you work with insurance? I am an out of network provider. You can read more about how I work with insurance here.
What do I need to do to prepare for my first session? After your appointment request is accepted, you will receive electronic intake paperwork to be completed through the client portal 24 hours prior to our meeting.
How do video sessions work? You will receive a link to join the meeting ahead of time. All you need is the personal device of your choosing and a private place to talk.
