LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
LGBTQ+ affirming therapy validates a person's sexual orientation, gender identity, and related experiences as natural aspects of a who they are. There is no attempt to judge or change a person's identity--and there is an understanding of the psychological harm of attempts to do so. The American Psychological Association, for example, has deemed "conversion therapy" unethical, as it can cause serious mental health problems. Conversely, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy seeks to provide a safe and accepting space.

LGBTQ+ Health
LGBTQ+ health encompasses the whole person: sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, relationship orientation, and more. Effective providers are informed about not only these innate aspects of who you are but also possess an understanding of the stressors people who are not straight or cisgender face in our society. Stressors like discrimination and stigma put members of the LGBTQ+ community at increased risk for mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. High quality, inclusive therapy promotes LGBTQ+ individuals' overall health and wellbeing.

How I Help
Providing informed, effective counseling for members of the LGBTQ+ community has been a cornerstone of my practice since opening my doors. Clients can count on me to be an ally and partner in their healing, respecting their identity from day one. In me, you'll find someone who builds you up without shying away from tough questions and subjects. Because you know as well as I do that life is hard. But, that doesn't mean you can't know, love, and trust yourself fully--and create the life and relationships that you desire.

Take yourself as you are, in all your moments of contradiction.
You were born in many colors, not just two dimensions.
